We need to brief group of digital reporters so that they can gather opinions of other young people at the event. Material subsequently to be edited for EdenMedia demo.
Anna - email to Steve [31/03/2009] - Please note there is already a skateboard park in Penrith and the consultation/engagement is to ask young people how to make it more innovative. They are bored and want more events to make it more exciting. There are also issues around safety later in evening which need to be addressed. Kids are bored so maybe having more stuff for them to do will address some of the problems. Anyhow, on Sunday 26th April around 500 kids will be turning up at the Skateboard Park to take part/experience a number of events including: Urban Art stuff, Football, Music and Performance, DJ’ing, Street Performance Workshops, Skating and more. The objective is to ask youngsters at the events what they think of them and whether they would like stuff like this in future or something different. Dawn (Leisure) is contacting some of the kids she knows in BlueJam (arts related group she also runs) to see if they will act as young reporters. I already contacted Sarah Bisson, youth worker, and she is getting kids from a local school involved as reporters. Can you say if/when you are free to come through before 26th April event to meet them – Sundays apparently are best for the young people. You say a date and we’ll organise some young folks to come along. We need to get them primed to do interviews, camera and audio work on 26th. Hope you are free on a Sunday before 26th and also on 26th April.
